「人は亡くなったら、星になるのよ」

 

幼いころに母親に言われたこの言葉が、葛西さんが宇宙葬を始めるきっかけとなったという。彼女は言う。

「星になって輝くって、ワクワクするじゃないですか。そんな思いで申し込んでいただければ、とてもうれしいです」

Ms. Tomoko Kasai, CEO of SPACE NTK in Tsukuba, Ibaraki Prefecture, who is involved in space burials using the artificial satellite "MAGOKORO," recalls words from her childhood. "When people pass away, they become stars," her mother once told her. For Kasai, these words served as the inspiration to initiate space burials. She expresses, "The idea of becoming a shining star is exciting, and I would be delighted if people applied with such sentiments."
